November 19, 2008 All the People´s Money
The wonderful film of the american independent film director Norman Jewison "All the People´s Money" comes today to my mind when thinking on what is happening in the economic world nowadays. The first principle of capitalism is the value to the shareholder. The only one strategy is to do whatever necessary to get the shares raise regardeless the consecuences over employees or even citizens. As the geniuos Danny Devito in his harsh shark character says.. Who cares? Now the money we miss, the money of all people is used to save the institutions which feed us with interests when we delay on payments. Maybe it is necessary to do that but not at any cost. The Governments have to keep clear in their rescue programs that All the peoples Money must not be just a help to cure the system but a controlled investment. All that money must come back to the citizens, with interests, maybe when unfortunately it will be too late for many.
